Step 1 — Install OpenVPN Connect
Install the OpenVPN client application for your computer.
Tip: If you already have OpenVPN Connect installed, skip to Step 2.
Windows notes
- Install OpenVPN Connect, then open it from the Start Menu.
macOS notes
- Install OpenVPN Connect, then open it from Applications.
Step 2 — Download and import the VPN profile
Download the FuseMind VPN profile and import it into OpenVPN Connect.
Import instructions
- Download
fusemind.ocfg.
- Open the file to import it into OpenVPN Connect.
- In OpenVPN Connect, you should see a new profile named FuseMind VPN.
Do not email or share the .ocfg file. Treat it like a credential.
Step 3 — Connect and authenticate (JumpCloud MFA)
- In OpenVPN Connect, click Connect on the FuseMind profile.
- Your web browser will open to the FuseMind / JumpCloud login page.
- Sign in with your FuseMind JumpCloud username and password.
- Complete MFA when prompted.
- After login completes, the browser will return to an Access granted page and OpenVPN Connect will finish connecting.
Expected behavior: OpenVPN Connect should not prompt you for a VPN username/password. Authentication happens in the browser via JumpCloud.
Troubleshooting
- Browser says it can’t connect to the server: Make sure you are online, then try Connect again.
- Nothing happens after MFA: Return to OpenVPN Connect. If it’s still “Connecting…”, disconnect and try again.
- Profile import failed: Re-download
fusemind.ocfg and import again. Make sure the file extension is .ocfg.
- Still stuck? Contact IT and include a screenshot of the OpenVPN Connect status page.
Security note: Your JumpCloud MFA is required each time you authenticate. Do not bypass MFA prompts.
